Georgia has Indicted the Republican Party
Fanni Willis has followed through on her earlier statements by indicting at least 19 Republicans under RICO statutes. Trump is front and center in this indictment, and 18 of his associates are culpable. But, this indictment is different than the other three, it is about the entire Republican party.
This indictment exposes, with facts, the party’s corrupt intent and its need to be in power despite our democracy and the will of the people. This is about a party that has surrendered itself to a conman, a liar, a criminal, and a demonstrated malignant narcissist. It’s about conservative leaders who cowardly stand and cheer on a losing candidate who will rally their base, so they don’t have to. They hide in his shadow while he dog-whistles racism, divides us, spews hate, and lies in a pathetic attempt to gain power. To borrow a phrase from Musk, The Republican party is on “Full Self-Campaigning “, Trump spews disgusting lies and they all get swept along as long as they won’t attack him for it. They believe this is a winning strategy, with no personal risk and with the upside of a voter base. But they are wrong.
They are wrong because this isn’t about just Trump, Willis will show the rot of a corrupt party. The Georgia DA will show the world how all those things we thought looked “fishy” were planned and intentionally executed to overturn one of the most scrutinized elections in American history. This will prove that Trump’s big lie is just that and that he had help not from just his inner circle ala Nixon but, from Republican state and federal legislators across the country. This indictment will send many to prison as there is no defense only the familiar whining, spinning, and intimidation that is Trump’s and now the Republican party’s brand.
